Elizabeth Mosima Koko, the wife of Matshela Koko, who was awarded the Tender to develop the Gwanda solar project, has been slapped with a R48 million tax fine by the South African Revenue service (SARS) .
Sunday World Newspaper reports that SARS obtained a default judgment against Elizabeth after she ignored their letters.
The newspaper said Elizabeth owed SARS R35, 2 million in unpaid personal income taxes but the amount ballooned to R48, 8 million after interest of R13, 6 million was added.
