University Teaching Hospital Public Relations Officer Nzeba Chanda says Rainford Kalaba is now able to make body movements.

This comes after multiple social media reports confirmed that the Zambian footballer had died including a condolence message from his former team TP Mazembe.

Addressing the media outside hospital, Chanda said Kalaba is still in the Intensive Care Unit receiving medical attention.

“We join the nation in hoping for his swift recovery and extend our thoughts and prayers to him and his family during this difficult time”, said Chanda.

Meanwhile, the deceased driver of the Mercedes Benz in which Rainford was a passenger, has been identified as Charlene Mumba aged 28 of house number 595, New Chilenje, off Nyatwa Road, Lusaka.

She was identified by relatives that went to Kafue Police Station that is investigating the accident.
