President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s advisor, Kudakwashe Tagwirei, allegedly used fronts and fake invoices to buy nickel and gold mines with a combined value of US$29.5 million in 2019.

The Sentry and Open Secrets made the revelations in a joint investigative report titled ‘Fronts, Fakes, and Facades: How South African and Mauritian Enablers Helped Move Million from Zimbabwe to Britain’.

The report revealed that Tagwirei made three payments to secure Bindura Nickel and Freda Rebecca Gold Mine.

Documents indicate Tagwirei used Sotic International, a Mauritian company, as his front.
