Eleven of the 16 youths who were arrested in connection with the murder of two Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporters at a rally in Kwekwe, Midlands province, on Sunday have been released.

Five of the suspects are still being held in connection with the murder, according to human rights lawyers.

“11 of the 16 Zanu PF youths arrested for allegedly killing a CCC supporter at a rally addressed by opposition leader Nelson Chamisa in Kwekwe on Sunday have been released. Police did not give reasons for releasing the 11 facing such a serious crime”

The Kwekwe rally violence claimed the life of Mboneni Ncube (30), who was reportedly stabbed with a spear .
