Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube is vying to get into the ZANU PF provincial structure in Bulawayo province.

Prof Ncube was appointed as a technocrat by President ED Mnangagwa when he took over from President Mugabe.

The move to contest by Prof Ncube is seen as a first step towards the ZANU-PF presidency and eventually, Zimbabwe presidency in future.

ZANU PF provincial elections will be held on Tuesday with the party’s Politburo members deployed throughout the country to supervise the polls.

Professor Mthuli Ncube became Finance Minister as one of the five technocrats who were picked on the basis of his competency.

In 2018, Mthuli hinted that he was not a politician but a technocrat hence his move to be elected into party structures has come as a shock to many.

Mthuli has promised to revive the economic activity and the industry once he is elected into the Bulawayo province main wing basket.
