Prominent lawyer Petina Gappa has joined the Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat as principal legal advisor in the office of the Secretary General.

Posting on Twitter, Gappa said It’s an honor to use the skills and experience of a lifetime to assist SG Wamkele Mene and AU Members to build the AfCFTA.

“I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat as Principal Legal Advisor in the Office of the Secretary-General. I can’t wait to join the team at our appropriately named headquarters in Accra: Africa Trade House”.

Gappah said she will be involved in training of government officials and parliaments and outreach to private sector and media.

“The next 4 years will be EPIC – my writer brain is also on fire. I hope to strengthen the creative bonds between Ghana and Zim through a play about Sally Heyfron Mugabe — a daughter of both nations.
I hope to stage it in this stunning building: the National Theatre of Ghana.”.
