MDC-T USA provincial secretary, Andrew Chaponda, has revealed that MDC-T President, Douglas Mwonzora and Vice President, Thokozani Khuphe, met today for the first time after the 27 December extra-ordinary Congress (EOC).
Chaponda said the formal position of the USA province is that the EOC was not held in line with the MDC-T constitution and therefore its outcome is null and void.
He said Mwonzora should step down and Dr Thokozani Khuphe should continue to act as President until the General congress is held.
Stolen $6 Million
Chaponda revealed that a police report has been made against Mwonzora and Mashakada over $6 Million that was withdrawn from the party’s bank account, without the knowledge of treasurer, Chief Ndlovu.
He said Mwonzora must be arrested for failing to account for this money. Chaponda accused Mwonzora of moving into the five star USD$500 a night Miekles hotel, using some of this money, where he lived for over a month.
Chaponda said the MDC needs to go back to its original values and unite for the good of Zimbabwe.
He dismissed Mwonzora ‘s attempts to enter a GNU with Mnangagwa through the backdoor, using POLAD.
Chaponda, who is based in the USA, slammed Mwonzora and said his leadership is not what Zimbabwe needs.
