Former US President Donald Trump was last week acquitted on his second impeachment trial after he was found not guilty.

Trump was being charged for his role in the 6 January attack on the US Capitol.

The voting results were  57-43. The vote was most bipartisan support for conviction ever in a presidential impeachment trial.

The outcome reflected that the raw anger of senators over Trump’s conduct as his supporters stormed the Capitol last month.

His win came after a defense by his lawyers who were argued that the impeachment of a former President is not constitutional.
