Tari explains that a lot of people shy away from immigrating to Canada thinking it makes them inadmissible.

She says an  HIV positive result does not make one automatically inadmissible.

If you are applying for permanent residence or temporary residence longer than 6 months .

The government of Canada requires that if you get a positive result, you prove that if you will not pose an excessive demand on the health care system.

If you will be in Canada for less than 6 months. 

An HIV positive result will not make you inadmissible as you won’t qualify for state healthcare program and will be required to get your own health insurance.

If you are being sponsored

The person sponsoring you will be notified if you get a positive result and they can Choose to withdraw their sponsorship, or you could choose to withdraw your application.
