A group of engineering students from Booker T. Washington High School are hoping to raise $51,000 for an international trip to Zimbabwe.

The trip is aimed at helping Zimbabwe improve its infrastructure.

The students are hosting their first major fundraising event today.

The innitiative started in 2016 when Dr Carlos Phillips was invited to be a key note speaker at a college in Zimbabwe and he noticed lack of eletricity and clean water.

Students from Zimbabwe also travelled to America in 2016 to understand how mordenisation works, building concepts of wind turbines.
