MDC A leader Nelson Chamisa has congratulated Joe Biden on his inauguration as the 46th President of the United States of America and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Posting on twitter, Chamisa said the successful transition of power in the US has demonstrated the importance of strong institutions in supporting democracy.
“Even when the system has been subjected to severe stress tests in recent times, it is thanks to strong institutions that democracy has prevailed”, he wrote.
Chamisa said is vital for Africa especially Zimbabwe to have strong credible institutions.
“Strong institutions treat everyone with respect, including the outgoing administration which was accorded a dignified exit as the new administration was ushered in. Africa must have strong credible institutions. It is vital for transition to be peaceful & predictable in Zim”.
