Virgin Active has confirmed that a member at their Melrose Arch branch has tested positive for Coronavirus. As a result, the club at Melrose Arch branch was closed from yesterday. The member visited the gym on the 13th of March.
The infection at Melrose has resulted in calls for all Virgin Active Gyms to be closed with immediate effect.
It is not clear what other Virgin branches are affected by Corona-virus:
However, Virgin Active have closed their Children’s Club-V facilities with effect from 18 March.
The biggest likely consideration for Virgin Active is that if they close their branches, they will have to refund membership fees.
Responding to a tweet yesterday, Virgin active said if a member requests it, they will pause membership fees for April.
