Oscar Pistorius To Be Released On 5 January 2024.
South African Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius will be released from prison on 5 January 2024 after being granted parole nearly 11 years after killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius was granted parole in November 2023. While he will effectively be a free man, he will be assigned a monitoring correctional services officer to work with him until his sentence expires.
In March 2023, his bid for freedom was denied and he approached the Constitutional Court which confirmed that the paralympian was eligible for parole.
