Roman Catholic cleric, Father Fidelis Mukonori has proposed that president Emerson Mnangagwa and his opposition rival Nelson Chamisa should maintain peace.

Mukonori said they must put interests of the country ahead of their own.

He shared these insights during a conversation with media personality Trevor Ncube.

Father Fidelis Mukonori played a pivotal role in some of Zimbabwe’s key moments.

He had a behind the scenes role in the Lancaster House negotiations and played a part in delivering the GNU.

In 2017,he mediated the exit of Robert Mugabe and the birth of Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.
