The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) acknowledges the ongoing distribution of ballot papers across Harare Metropolitan Province and wishes to inform the public of the current situation.

It is important for members of the public to be aware that ballot papers are still in the process of being dispatched to all polling stations within the province. As a precautionary measure, citizens are strongly advised to check with their respective polling stations early this evening to ensure the availability of voting materials.

In the unfortunate event that voting materials have not reached the polling stations, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission hereby declares its commitment to extending the voting period accordingly. The decision to extend the voting period will be made to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

Regrettably, the delays in the distribution of the voting materials are a result of legal contestations that have occurred throughout the Province. However, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission assures the public that every effort is being made to swiftly resolve these challenges and expedite the distribution process.

On behalf of the ZEC Logistics Committee, we extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience and frustration caused as a result of these unforeseen circumstances. We understand the importance of a fair and accessible electoral process in upholding the principles of democracy.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission remains committed to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, and we thank the Zimbabwean public for their understanding and cooperation during this time.
