There was chaos in Harare after a group of recently recruited policemen went on a rampage,beating up people in the Harare CBD on Friday night.

The young policemen beat up people who were walking on the streets and forced the closure of various food outlets.
It is not clear who ordered the random beatings. However, it is suspected that the group was acting on orders from ZANU-PF.
Police spokesman, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said 19 suspects were arrested.
