Newsday reports that Former Cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere has filed an application seeking the cancellation of his warrant of arrest.

This comes as he seeks to contest in the upcoming Presidential elections set for August.

In his application, which was filed on June 2, Kasukuwere, through his lawyers, Mhishi and Nkomo Legal Practitioners, said the warrant was issued in error.

The warrant of arrest was issued on January 17, 2019 by retired Harare magistrate Hosea Mujaya after Kasukuwere failed to appear for trial on four counts of criminal abuse of office.
