Citizen Coalition for Change Zengeza West MP Job Sikhala has has been found guilty of obstructing the course of justice.
Handing down the judgement, Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa said Sikhala will serve six months in jail if he fails to pay a fine of US$600 by 5 May.
He was arrested last year for saying Zanu PF mobs killed the opposition activist Moreblessing Ali, who was abducted and later found dead.
Magistrate Gofa said evidence clearly shows that Sikhala’s utterances misled the police.
Sikhala has been held in Chikurubi maximum-security prison since June 2022 and unsuccessfully applied for bail 15 times.
