President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been conferred with the Freedom of the City by Gweru City Council (GCC).

Mnangagwa unveiled the Remembrance Plaque on ED Mnangagwa street, formerly known as Main street.

This marked the 7th session to be confered to the city. The last session was in 1992 when the former latef President Cde Mugabe was confered.

Freedom of the City is an honour given by a local council, either to a person or military unit, in recognition of their exceptional service to the city.

Some of the notable attendees during the session were VP Constantino Chiwenga, ZANU PF VP Kembo Mohadi, Defense Minister Opper Muchinguri Kashiri and other Politburo members.
