The President of Lead Zimbabwe, Linda masarisa has heavily criticised football governing body FIFA for Banning Zimbabwe from all international football activities.
Masarira took to social media to slam Fifa
“I am worried with @FIFAcom double standards in handling football matters. They banned Zimbabwe from taking part in international football because government’s interference in the local football body @online_zifa on the basis that governments or politics must not interfere in the admnistration of football. The same FIFA has interefered in politics by banning Russia from international football because of the Russia invasion of Ukraine. Does Fifa assess the impact of their punitive measures on Zimbabwe football players?Â
Whose interests does FIFA serve? It is not a secret that the FIFA sanctions on Zimbabwe doesn’t affect the government at all but affects football development, players livelihoods & the future of the game in our county. We condemn the unwarranted sanctions on #Footbzw,” she posted.
