The planned rally by Citizens Coalition for Change President, Nelson Chamisa, has been banned by the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

The decision to ban the rally was communicated through a letter by Chief Superintendent T. Chikono which is dated 25 February 2022.

Chikono said ZANU-PF and CCC would both be using the same highway to travel to Kwekwe and Gokwe respectively, which could result in violence.

The rally was originally approved by Chikono with stringent conditions on 22 February.

CCC spokeswoman, Fadzayi Mahere slammed the decision and said ZANU-PF announced their rally after CCC announced their Gokwe rally and therefore it was their rally that should have been banned.

The CCC rally was planned to be held at Gokwe shopping center today.
