WATCH LIVE as Gambakwe Media looks at today’s rally by CCC President, Nelson Chamisa

The rally by Chamisa degenerated into chaos, with 11 people seriously injured after a truck that was used to ferry people was involved in an accident.

A number of youths who were sitting in a tree fell down and broke their arms and are now hospitalided at Parirenyatwa.

Key observations from the event

1. The crowd that attended the crowd was small, less than 5000 people.

2. The event did not attract any other members of the opposition except for Godfrey Tsenengamu.

3. The event did not reflect a new organization and was more of the same.

4. The entertainment was poor and generally the event was poorly organized.

However, the biggest disappointment was the failure by Chamisa to use the event.

– The event clearly showed that Chamisa is still building a one man band and not a coalition.

– Chamisa failed to announce an interim leadership structure, the CCC remains a shell organization.

– Chamisa failed to unveil the key documents that will clarify the nature and form of the CCC. The party remains a shell organization without any grassroots structures.

Conclusion

It is clear that Chamisa believes that he can win the 2023 elections by doing the same things he did in 2018. This is a mistake.

Chamisa is failing to define a path to State house.

His new party, the CCC, has a weak brand identy and does not appeal to a wide cross section of Zimbabweans.

There is no hope that Chamisa will win the 2023 elections given the nature of problems in his party.
