The President of Zambia, His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema on Wednesday met the European Union Election Observer at Zambia’s state house.
The European Union Election Observer Mission is led by its Chief Observer, Maria Arena MEP.
The union presented its final report of 2021 Presidential and General Elections in Zambia.
Ms Arena congratulated Zambians for a peaceful election and harmonious transition of power to the New Dawn Government.
Hichilema and the European Union delegates also discussed a wide range of issues among them, the democratic environment in Africa and how economic development and the rule of law are interconnected and how they ultimately enhance Democracy.
Hichilema reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to democracy, civil liberties, constitutionalism and the rule of law.
