City Press reports that a senior government official has revealed that besides the fact that Tito Mboweni was physically unwell, there were other reasons why he was fired.
The official said there were other bigger, personal and sensitive reasons for him being let go.
The reasons given included that Mboweni took extreme positions and was unwilling to listen to opposing views.
For example, while other countries were spending money to support businesses in the wake of Covid-19, Mboweni announced a R265 Billion in budget cuts to public services.
Mboweni also did not support the reintroduction of the basic income and COVID-19 grants.
