The former CCC Legislator, Advocate Fadzayi Mahere has written to the Zimbabwe Police questioning if it’s a crime to reject the newly introduced Zimbabwe currency ZiG.
Mahere questions if there is statute that creates an offence in rejecting the currency and also questions why passport offices and state universities are not not arrested for demanding payment only in USD.
She questions if the same rules concerning the ZiG are enforced against everyone or there is one law for everyone and the other for another sect.
Fadzayi Mahere has challenged the Zimbabwe Police who are arresting persons refusing the ZiG to share a legal provision that makes it a crime to reject the currency.
