The trial of Honourable Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri, Marova Netsai, Chitengu and Stan Manyenga has been postponed to 13 May.
This comes after the prosecutors indicated that they want to combine their court record with that of Haruzivishe Makomborero so that they jointly stand trial next month.
Makomborero was sentenced to 14 months in prison earlier this month.
Prosecutors claim that the 6 participated in an illegal demo held on 13 May 2020 in Warren Park suburb in which party supporters allegedly staged a flash demonstration protesting against hunger at a time when Zimbabwe was under a govt enforced national lockdown.
Meanwhile, MDC Alliance’s youth leader Tererai Sithole who was arrested earlier today has been charged with criminal nuisance as defined in section 46 of Criminal Code.
