Nelson Chamisa, has rejected the calls by newly elected MDC-T President, Douglas Mwonzora for unity and dialogue.

Mwonzora, in an interview with the Daily News, called for braod based dialogue among all Zimbabweans.

However, the call was immediately rejected by MDC Alliance secretary General, Charlton Hwende who wrote on Twitter.

Sources close to Nelson Chamisa said there is zero prospects of Chamisa agreeing to a dialogue with Mwonzora and his focus is on direct talks with Mnangagwa.

Mwonzora Proposal.

The Dialogue proposed by Mwonzora is as follows :

1. The dialogue will be between Mnangagwa and His party – MDC-T. Mwonzora said he will initiate the approach the government to initiate dialogue.

2. Mwonzora says he will also be dialoguing with other opposition parties.

3. Other players such as Chamisa and MDC Alliance will be allowed to come into the dialogue.

Outcomes

1. Mwonzora is open to a GNU.

2. Mwonzora wants to deal with reforms (Chiefs must be allowed to be apolitical)

3. Mwonzora Is open to suspension of 2023 elections.

Key Issues With Mwonzora Proposal

1. Mwonzora has been saying he will reach out to Chamisa and Mnangagwa, but he hasn’t!

2. Chamisa ‘s supporters have vowed never to work with Mwonzora.

3. Mwonzora is facing an internal crisis as Khuphe is refusing to make way for him in Parliament. She also refusing to concede defeat.

4. Mwonzora is also ignoring POLAD.

Conclusion

If Mwonzora is not appointed into an official government position soon, he will lose relevance and the MDC-T will collapse.

He desperately needs something to happen and us at his weakest.
