The Standard Newspaper reports that Defence and War Veterans Deputy Minister, Victor Matemadanda, was forced to cancel a meeting that was organised by War Veterans in Marondera.
After being taken from their respective districts, the war veterans were kept waiting after Matemadanda did not show up in the scheduled meeting.
Matemadanda said he was not aware of the meeting.
The minister had a scheduled meeting with the war veterans at Mbuya Nehanda hall while a parallel group organised another parallel meeting.
The disgruntled war veterans were led by Samunda in the other meeting at the Zanu Pf provincial party headquarters.
Faced with this situation, the minister was then forced to abort the meeting with war veterans and deploy someone else in his place.
However, veterans were not happy with the minister’s decision claiming that he is not considering their welfare.
