Movement for Democratic Change Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere has pleaded with the SADC and the African Union led by Cyril Ramaphosa to intervene in the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe.

In an Interview with Newsroom Afrika Mahere said the SADC and AU should take a stand in the Humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe, it should condemn abductions, brutal killings happening every single day in Zimbabwe.

Mahere said Mnangagwa should be called to account for the atrocities, tribulations he is putting people in.

Speaking about her arrest, Mahere said the cells they were detained in on the 31st of July are a crime against humanity, they are a health time bomb especially with the spiking Covid-19 cases, she added that there are no functioning toilets, no running water, sanitizer and soap among other things.

Mahere said the undemocratic behavior of the government is going beyond control, a number of people have been arrested for merely voicing their views, exposing the ills of the government and demanding a better Zimbabwe.

Instead of addressing the plight of the citizens, the government is using the Covid-19 lockdown to impose a completely unprecedented curfew using state security forces.

Mahere said Mnangagwa should stop playing military style politics with the citizens instead he should look for expertise to assist Zimbabwe in this dire situation.

This comes after the appointment of General Chiwenga as the minister of Health, she said Chiwenga is always airlifted to other countries for medical attention thus he is unqualified to take the role.

Mnangagwa Should come up with solutions and deliver inspiration to the people instead of threatening to flush out rogue citizens thus his government has no plan to deal with the crisis in the country.

Mahere said despite the threats, they will not stop fighting for the better Zimbabwe without poverty, inflation, hospitals which are death traps, unemployment.

Mahere said corruption in the ruling party is destroying the country, health workers are on strike demanding pay rise while the government is looting money for their own benefit.
