President of Namibia Hage Geingob has fired Dr Benhard Haufiku as Presidential Special Advisor on Health Matters with immediate effect.
In an interview with NBC, Press Secretary in the office of the president Dr Alfredo Hengari confirmed about Haufiku’s termination of contract saying that it was because Haufiku spoke about confidential information with the media.
Hengari said that Dr Haufiku leaked information to the media and this breached the communication protocol of the government as a whole.
This is the second time Haufiku has been fired by President Geingob after he was first fired as Health Minister in 2018, before being hired as an advisor, a position he has again been removed from.
