Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance vice president Tendai Biti has described Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa as a clueless and cruel individual failing to run the country.

In an interview with Newsroom Afrika, Biti said: ” We never thought that after the demise of the late former President Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe would be worse”.

He added that the crisis in Zimbabwe belongs on Mnangagwa’s shoulders, there is massive unemployment rate, corruption, closure of political space, rampant arrest of ZANU PF critiques

Biti said everyone is under threat yet Mnangagwa has the indecency of blaming everyone calling the MDC Alliance a terrorist organisation, calling foreigners a dark force.

“Mnangagwa must go to give Zimbabweans a chance and hope for a better nation.

Mnangagwa’s rule is more repressive than the Apartheid of South Africa thus the time will come when Zimbabweans rise against the revolutionary party”, he said

Biti added that deploying the military to thwart anti-government protest will not stop change in Zimbabwe when the right time has come.

Biti said people who can change Zimbabwe are the Zimbabweans themselves uniting against Mnangagwa and his cronies however external help from Cyril Ramaphosa the African Union chairperson, the SADC is paramount.

Biti added that he is pleased by the way South Africans are in solidarity with the struggle Zimbabwe.

“We need a democratic SADC led by dynamic leaders who understand that the future is democracy, transformation and development”.

Biti alleged that Mnangagwa is using Covid-19 to restrict and constraint people’s rights thus in many African country it has been used to justify the imposition of a defacto state of emergency.
