In an unprecedented move, a desperate Thabita Khumalo has reportedly rushed to the high court to interdict reinstated MDC-T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora from filling her seat in parliament.

The interdict case is set to be heard this afternoon in the High court. This comes at a time when a similar interdict case brought by the High Court is still to be ruled on. Judgement in that case will be delivered on Friday.

Thabitha Khumalo is a proportional representation MP and she is the easiest MP to replace.

This means there are now two court cases relating to the same MPs recalled by the MDC-T.

Analysts say both cases are likely to be denied by the High court as granting the interdits will result in the High court going against the Supreme court ruling and creating a legal crisis.

Questions on Chamisa Strategy

Questions have also been raised about Nelson Chamisa’ strategy of fighting out the case in court when  he claims that courts are captured.

Many analysts feel that Chamisa would be better off forming his own political party and start preparing for 2023.
