Pope Francis has called for peace in Israel and Palestine where violence has erupted causing hundreds of deaths and injuries.
Taking to Twitter, Pope said the attacks and weaponry must cease.
“I am following apprehensively and sorrowfully what is happening in Israel. May the attacks and weaponry cease!”, said Pope Francis.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. Palestinians and Israeli settlers have clashed on several occasions.
He added that it should be understood that terrorism and war do not lead to any resolutions.
