Former United States President Barrack Obama joined the rest of America in celebrating Jimmy Carter’s 99th birthday.
Carter served as U.S. 39th president from January 1977 to January 1981.
Taking to X, Obama said “Happy 99th birthday, President Carter! You’ve inspired so many people around the world with your leadership, character, and commitment to service.”
He added: “Michelle and I hope you have a wonderful birthday and send our best wishes to you and Rosalynn”
Carter is currently in hospice care after deciding in February to decline additional medical intervention.
