President Mnangagwa met Zimbabwe’s first Minister of Education and Culture after independence in 1980, Dr Dzingai Mutumbuka in United States of America.

Dr Dzingai Mutumbuka paid a courtesy call on President Mnangagwa at his New York hotel today.

He congratulated President Mnangagwa for his victory in the recently concluded August 23 Harmonised elections.

Mutumbuka has retired as a consultant from the World Bank.
They were together during the liberation struggle. At Independence they were part of the cabinet with President ED Mnangagwa as Minister of State Security and Cde Dzingai Mutumbuka as Minister of Education.

Mutumbuka currently works at UNESCO and is based in the US.
