A form one student from Sacred Heart School in Banket has invented a model of a refrigerator which can be used by farmers in rural areas.

Stefan Ngwira invented a solar powered machine which produces cool air and can be run by rechargeable solar batteries.

The machine doesn’t freeze contents but produces cool air and believes it will be useful in rural areas where there is no electricity.

His mother Damares Zulu believes that his son is determined to do even better especially if he gets more exposure and guidance.

She also revealed that Stefan used a broken DVD and laptop to make a refrigerator.

Damares Zulu said she hopes that in future he will be able to make these on large scales and impact many lives.
