The Nyatsime 14 have been granted bail by the high court after spending 148 days in jail and being denied bail several times.

Justice Munavato Mutevezi released them in custody at ZW$50 000 each.

“We breathe a sigh of relief, but we do not celebrate. They should never have been jailed without trial in the first place. Bail is a constitutional right,” Fadzai Mahere said on twitter.

Nelson Chamisa also appealed for Job Sikhala’s release.
