American rapper Kelis has accused Beyoncé and her team of stealing a sample of her music for the Renaissance album.
In an Instagram post shared on July 28, Kelis said Beyoncé took part of her hit song “Get along with you” and sampled it on her new song “Energy”.
She said Beyonce “should have at least reached out” to her about sampling her song anding that “It’s not about her being jealous”.
Kelis’ comments come ahead of today’s release of Renaissance.
Kelis accused her producers Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of stealing her 1999 hit song and working with Beyonce as the songwriters’ names are credited under Beyonce’s new song.
