Former Botswana President Ian Khama is seeking to go into Exile in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Khama is facing 38 criminal charges including Illegal possession of firearms. Under Botswana law, the illegal possession of guns could lead to a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Writing on Facebook, Khama said he is on a private visit in Eswatini.

“I am on a private visit in The Kingdom of Eswatini and last night, King Mswati III hosted a dinner to welcome me to his country.”


Adding on, Khama said: “The reception and hospitality has been remarkable and I’ll be looking forward to a great stay in Eswatini.”
