Former MDC Alliance principal, Jacob Ngarivhume, has slammed Nelson Chamisa and the CCC for ignoring issues, instead, focusing on the 2023 elections.

Writing on Facebook, Ngarivhume said:

I support most of the things @nelsonchamisa and @CCCZimbabwe are doing. They’ve done a remarkable job rebuilding after @DMwonzora.

Where we differ is when it appears @CCCZimbabwe strategy is focusing on elections in 2023 and foregoing being more assertive on issues right now.

We’ve got a basket full of evidence that Zimbabwe is being looted by @edmnangagwa and his cronies everyday but our inaction simply emboldens the looters.

We are constantly filing cases in courts that we know are corrupted and the results are always the same. Some cases we win to give the illusion of fairness but critical issues like human rights and corruption are never addressed.

Not acting on corruption now means we lose hundreds of millions of dollars by December. Money for hospitals, schools and families living in abject poverty.

Most people think that exercising our constitutional right to demonstrate is a waste of time. But it’s far from it. This is the strongest message citizens can send to a government outside of elections. The key to a successful citizen action is clear goals.

Transform Zimbabwe may be considered a fringe party. But I believe our role in this fight is to give those who want action right now, a platform to be heard.
