Public Safety MMC David Tembe yesterday presented acting Sergeant Tebogo Malilula from the Joburg Police Department with a Bravery award for rescuing two children from the ledge of a building in Johannesburg over the weekend.
Mailula, who was on a patrol in the CBD along with three other officers as part of Operation Buya Mthetho, reached the girls from the floor below.
The girls’ mother had left them sleeping in the flat while she went to the butchery.
The MMC for Safety and Security in the City of Johannesburg, Councillor David Tembe, has commended the sergeant for his bravery.
