The court case involving Citizens Coalition for Change member, Fadzayi Mahere has been postponed to February 15, 2022.
Mahere who is facing charges of spreading fake news appeared to the Harare High Court on Tuesday.
Posting on microblogging site, Twitter, Mahere expressed frustration over the delay. She wrote:
The matter has been further postponed to enable @PoliceZimbabwe to come & update the court on how far they’ve gone in approaching @Twitter. This makes a delay of over 13 months.
The alleged charge was struck off our statute books by the ConCourt. Matter postponed to 15 Feb at 9.
I have been on remand since the 31st of July 2020. Back again today for case number 2. The State has no docket. They don’t know what the charge is. 10 nights in Chikurubi for them to have zero evidence over a year down the line. The process has given me a degree in “law”. 😂
