Award winning independent journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono has decided to quit social media after the leader of MDC Alliance, Advocate Nelson Chamisa ignored his advice to change party name.

The journalist took to social media to announce that he will no longer be active on social media till further notice.

“Afternoon folks.

I hope you are all doing fine.

I am taking a social media break, I am starting work on a new documentary film which requires my full attention. 

I will be back intermittently.

Stay focused and make sure that 2022 counts for you and your families,” he posted.

Chin’ono and Professor Jonathan Moyo have been urging Nelson Chamisa to change the party name.

However,  Chamisa has been ignoring this advise , sticking to MDC Alliance a name which is set to be used by Mwonzora’s party during the by-elections which are scheduled for March 2022.
