Dr. Dre and  his ex wife, Nicole young, have finally reached a settlement in their bitter divorce, ending their 20 year old marriage.

Nicole filed for divorce in June of 2020 citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was delayed after Nicole challenged the a prenuptial agreement that she willingly signed in 1996. She insisted that it was not valid because Dre allegedly ripped it up one night, during some kind of romantic gesture.

Dre has a reported $800 million fortune and Nicole will receive only $100 million in cash after a judge upheld the prenup, which prevented her from collecting 50% of Dre’s money.

Dre will pay Young $50 million now and the remaining $50 million in a year,

This is how their assets will be divided

  1. Dre gets to keep seven properties they own including a Malibu home
  2. He also keeps two homes in Calabasas
  3. Dre will also keep four properties in the LA area including the $100 million Brentwood estate that they shared.
  4. Dre gets full rights to his master recordings, trademarks and interest in various partnerships and trust.
  5. Dre also keeps all of their all of their Apple stocks, which includes the proceeds from the sale of Beats by Dre.
  6. They are dividing their fleet of vehicles. So he gets six and she gets four.
  7. Nicole gets to keep jewelry and cash and bank accounts that she had maintained during the marriage. So there might be some more money other than the 100 million dollars.

However, Nicole has to pay her own legal fees going forward as Dre was paying her legal fees up until now.

Nicole also gets to keep storage lockers filled with items from their various homes. Dre has put the items in storage and according to the settlement, she gets to keep all this stuff inside that was hers.

The settlement prevented Nicole from claiming spousal support.
