The government of Zimbabwe led by his Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa has engaged the government of South Africa over ZEP permits.

The government of Zimbabwe says the South African government is correct to not extend the permits.

However, it says the South African government must not make life difficult for the Zimbabweans who have been living abroad for many years.

Zimbabwe’s government is concerned its system will not be able to handle the large number of Zimbabweans returning to the country.

There are also suggestions that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government is concerned that some of the Zimbabweans that will return are political activists that oppose his regime.

The ZEP Permit Holders Association and non-profit organisation African Amity are also worried about the South African government’s decision not to renew the exemption permits.

The government of Zimbabwe is begging the government of South Africa to extend the ZEP permits for the Zimbabweans.

The government of Zimbabwe engaged South Africa after the Cabinet Ministers of South Africa voted not to renew permits for Zimbabweans living in South Africa.
