Gambakwe Media sources have exclusively revealed that MDC-T Vice President, Thokozani Khupe, boycotted the party’s standing committee meeting that was held yesterday.

The source revealed that Khupe did not offer any reasons for not joining the meeting, which was held virtually.

Khuphe’s close ally, Senator Khaliphani Phugeni, attended the meeting.

Her spokesman,  Ntando Ndlovu said:

I can confirm that Dr Khupe received an invitation to a virtual standing committee meeting, unfortunately she was unable to join the meeting due to network challenges in rural Mat North where she is for the festive holidays .

Its normal for party members to miss meetings and that can never be characterized as a boycott. We also know that she’s not the only one who was not there , other people failed to make it as well ,did they also boycott the said meeting ?? I have issues with the term boycott !

Ndlovu said Khupe could not give her apologies as she was deep in the rural areas where there was no cellphone network coverage.

Khupe ‘s boycott of the standing committee meeting is the latest sign of a total breakdown of her relationship with Mwonzora.

Khupe dragged Mwonzora to court last week, demanding that he be interdicted from recalling her and her allies.

A date for the urgent court hearing has not yet been set.

Please see the standing committee resolutions below.

Gambakwe Media reported over the weekend that Khupe boycotted a week long MDC-T policy meeting which was held at the same hotel where she was staying.

Problems between the two top MDC-T leaders arose after Khupe was suspected of holding secret meetings with MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa.

Speaking to Gambakwe Media over the weekend, Senator Phugeni denied that he boycotted the week long policy meeting, saying he did not know about the meeting.
