Popular Zimbabwean prophet, Passion Java has blamed Hopewell Chin’ono for secretly asking South Africa not to renew Zimbabwe exemption permits.

Java said Hopewell begged the SA government not to extend the exemption permits so that Zimbabweans can come and vote.

This comes after the Cabinet announced on Thursday the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP), which ends on 31 December, will not be extended.

However, it decided on a 12-month grace period during which time ZEP holders “should apply for other permits appropriate to their particular status or situation”.

Java said it was a poor decision as most people will be forced to leave SA where they were leading better lives to come and struggle in Zimbabwe.

At least 180 000 Zimbabweaans will be deported if they do not have access to visa that qualify for them to remain in SA.
