Mnangagwa Tightens Lockdown Measures

The President of Zimbabwe His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa has tightened the lockdown regulations with immediate effect.

The President announced the new measures on Tuesday evening.


President Mnangagwa said all returning residents and visitors have to undergo PCR testing & will be quarantined at own cost, for days recommended by World Health Organization (WHO).

The daily curfew has also been adjusted to 9pm to 6am.


Meanwhile, the number and behavior of persons attending any gathering must observe and comply with World Health Organization protocols.

The shops will open for business from 0700hrs to 1900hrs.

The COVID-19 related funerals are set to be strictly supervised by the Ministry of Health, Environmental Health Officers and Technicians.

The President also announced that the night clubs and bars are to admit vaccinated clients only. Meanwhile restaurants are required to close at 1900 hours.
