The self-proclaimed prophet and leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering Prophet Shephered Bushiri has joined the Malawians in celebrating the country’s 57th independence.
Bushiri took to different social media platforms to join Malawi’s President in celebrating the independence.
On a day like today, 57 years ago, the nation of Malawi got its self-rule after about 71 years under the British colonial rule.
“On behalf of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church and, indeed, on my own behalf, I hereby join Malawi’s leader, His Excellency Dr Lazarus Chakwera and every Malawian in commemorating this significant day in the history of this great nation.
Happy 57th Independence Day,” he posted.
Malawi gained independence on 6th July 1964.
The country was the first member of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe) to attain independence.
