The Judgment on Zuma’s contempt case has been reserved to Friday, 9 July 2021.

The Pietermaritzburg High Court will hand down its ruling on July 9 on whether to approve Zuma’s request to have his surrender or arrest put on hold, Judge Bhekisisa Mnguni said following a hearing on Tuesday.

The Constitutional Court last week found Zuma, 79, guilty of violating its order to testify before a judicial panel that’s probing graft during his nine-year rule and ordered him to surrender to the authorities by July 4 to begin serving his sentence.

Msholozi has been refusing to hand himself to the police as he argues that the sentencing was unconstitutional.

His former associate Julius Selo Malema also said the sentencing was unconstitutional, he said the court should have considered the age of Zuma and it should have considered that Zuma has no criminal record.
